Published on June 4, 2020

Yoga legend Sri Dharma Mittra was born in Brazil and came to NYC in 1962 to meet and study with Sri Swami Kailashananda. Since 1967, he has been teaching yoga nonstop to thousands of students. Dharma is also well known by the Master Yoga Chart of 908 Postures that he meticulously created from over 1,350 photographs of yoga poses he took of himself.

A new short video by Alessandro Sigismondi features Sri Dharma Mittra practicing and teaching yoga in NYC. At 80 years of age, he performs advanced asanas with grace and ease. In the video, Dharma talks about the meaning of life and his deep gratitude for his experiences and his yoga practice.

“That is the meaning of life: to experience everything. No matter what’s happening, no matter if it is pleasant or not pleasant, I see it as divine.”
