The Best Yoga Tops and Bras of 2018

Published on June 19, 2018

With yoga’s popularity today, you’ll find there is a dizzying multitude of choices when it comes to yoga clothing. It’s great to have so much variety to choose from, but it can also be challenging to find the best yoga tops and bras to suit your personal yoga practice.

As you begin your search for the perfect yoga top or bra, evaluate your needs for comfort, style, quality, and eco-friendliness. How important are each of these factors in your purchasing decision? Your answers here will help narrow down your search. The type of yoga you practice most is also a helpful consideration, especially as you decide between various fabrics and cuts.

For example, if you typically practice hot (or warm) yoga, you’ll want to look for a top with good ventilation made from a quick-dry material. If your usual practice is gentle or alignment-based, you’ll likely want loose, long tops that gives you room to move freely. If you have a vigorous vinyasa practice, look for a yoga bra with enough support to help you feel secure during jump-backs.

Have a better idea of what you’re looking for? Now take a look through our list of the 6 best yoga tops and bras for 2018 to see which ones best match your needs!

Essential Crop by Lily Lotus

best sports bras and yoga topsThis super soft tank top has the perfect amount of stretch for a comfortable fit. Its streamlined shape and elegant color choices will pair well with most yoga pants, and even make it a great choice for wearing outside of the yoga studio. The top is made in the USA with sustainability in mind with a blend of 47% Eco Modal, 47% Cotton, and 8% Spandex. We love pairing this top with Lily Lotus’ stylish X Capri bottoms.

Stunning Yoga Sports Bra by Onzie

best sports bras and yoga topsThis beautifully-designed yoga bra is made with a great moisture-wicking and quick-drying fabric. The underbust band and crisscross racerback straps lend an eye-catching style as well as a secure, supportive fit. Made in the USA with a blend of 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex. Note: We found this bra runs slightly small. We recommend pairing this yoga bra with Onzie’s High Waisted Yoga Leggings.

Perpetual Sports Bra by Under Armour

best sports bras and yoga topsThis sleek and sexy sports bra has molded cups for excellent support and coverage, and its stylish and thin crossover straps lay flat against your skin for a seamless fit. Mesh insets at the sides and back add extra breathability, making this bra a great choice for hot yoga. Made with a blend of 53% Cotton, 24% Polyester, and 23% Elasterell. We would pair this top with the matching HeatGear Armour Fashion Ankle Crop bottoms.

Hamsa Foil Tank by Anjali

best sports bras and yoga topsThis lightweight tank is perfect to layer over any yoga bra for a hip, funky look in the yoga studio and on the street. It features an eye-catching metallic silver hamsa graphic—a Middle Eastern symbol of protection. Made with a soft and stretch polyester and viscose blend. We’d pair this yoga top with Anjali’s Ferocity Yoga Leggings.

Ekam Yoga Bra by Satya Yoga Wear

best sports bras and yoga topsThis essential yoga bra prioritizes comfort, simplicity, and quality and comes in five versatile basic colors. The bra is crafted in Bali with double-stitched straps, double layered fabric, and a strong elastic underbust band. Made with a soft 90% cotton and 10% spandex blend. We paired this top with Satya’s Trini Yoga Shorts.

Chelsey Bra by Hyde

best sports bras and yoga topsSimple yet stylish, this yoga bra’s flattering racerback design allows for free and comfortable arm movement in your yoga practice. This top has the support and coverage you will want for a hot yoga or vinyasa practice. Made in the USA with a eco-friendly blend of 87% organic cotton and 13% spandex. We’ve paired this top with Hyde’s Wren leggings.

Before you purchase, don’t forget to check out the brand’s size guide or ask if the style runs true to size. Keep in mind that the more spandex used in the fabric, the more forgiving the size will be. We also recommend you check out the brand’s return policy, which can differ dramatically from company to company. As noted above, the only top in our list that didn’t fit true to size was the Onzie Yoga Sports Bra–it ran a bit small.
